Last night's episode of Line of Duty amassed 7.8 million viewers, making it the most watched show of 2019 so far. It was also the largest viewing of the first episode of all four previous Line of Duty series', as the first episode of series 4 attracted 5.4 million viewers.

Creator Jed Mercurio also wrote Bodyguard which received 6.9million for its first episode, gained outstanding reviews of the highly anticipated return of Line of Duty.
Where do I begin with reviewing the first episode?!
Firstly, are you just as shocked as I am that Maneet Bindra was killed? She was caught for spying on AC-12 and providing ACC Hilton with key police information. In the same episode as this was discovered, she had her throat slashed and was left to die surrounded by blood. She framed DC Jamie Desford, by using his computer. Her cousin Vihan Malhotra was in danger of being dismissed after many mistakes.
“It’s true ACC Hilton used Vihan to blackmail me… Hilton said he’d pull strings if I kept him in the loop,”

Vihan’s worked as a civilian administrator within the police and was involved in organising the processing and disposal of controlled substances. They targeted him for the hijack of the ED905 drugs convoy; by pretending to help him pay off his gambling debts, Lisa McQueen blackmailed him into giving relevant information.
Steve and Kate assumed that Lisa McQueen was the undercover officer, until Detective Superintended Alison Powell accidentally referred to the UCO as "him". John Corbett removes his balaclava, and is shown as being the UCO. Corbett was part of Operation Peartree, but the cover officers and other senior members had not had contact with Corbett for months.
Line of Duty continues Sunday 7th April 2019 on BBC One at 9pm.
