The third episode of the fifth series of Line of Duty on Sunday 14th April, and I think I have to begin with the relief I felt when we learnt that Cafferty didn't identify Hastings as the bent copper who recruited her!

The tense scene of the Eastfield Depot raid unmasked DCS Les Hargreaves as the bent copper, and we question whether he was actually H, or just another person in the chain. AC-12 raced down from their lookout position, to pull the balaclava off a dying Hargreaves, after John Corbett opened fire on him. Corbett later revealed that he shot 'low' in order to allow for AC-12 to bring him in for questioning, which was proved unsuccessful after we learnt (at the same time as Arnott and and Fleming) that he died from the gunshots.

We have to talk about Hastings disposing of his laptop! Shifty or what?! After learning that Corbett and Arnott had been in contact, we watched Ted wrap his laptop in bubble wrap, and take it to an electronic disposal centre.

We see a tense scene between Arnott and Corbett, where Corbett pulls a gun on Arnott and shoots just over his shoulder, missing him by inches. Arnott asks why he killed Hargreaves and the impact that it will have, potentially compromising, on the investigation. Corbett races out of the car park, and we see him knocking on the door of a house. Hasting's wife answers the door, to reveal Corbett standing there. He uses a false identity, and refers to himself as Steve Arnott. He asks if he can come in, when Mrs Hastings tells him that she should call her husband to check. Leaving the door on the latch, she tentatively walks away, which is when Corbett puts a black balaclava on, and grabs a large pair of pliers from his bag. He snaps the door latch, and enters.
The end credits roll and I didn't think I would be able to wait a week to find out what happens next.
Line of Duty continues next Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
