Manhunt

Manhunt premiered on the 6th January 2019, a crime drama series that showed the investigation into serial rapist and murderer Levi Bellfield.

The series featured Martin Clunes who played Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton, who would lead the investigation. The series is based upon the true story of the murder of Amélie Delagrange, who was attacked on the evening of 19th August 2004 on Twickenham Green, in Greater London. She was a 22 year old student, visiting the UK from France. There was no forensic evidence gathered from the scene, and within 24 hours, it was established that she might have been killed by the same man who murdered Marsha McDonnell on the 3rd February 2003.

Cell tower data indicated that Amelié Delagrange's mobile last made contact to the network in an area close by the river, miles away from Twickenham Green. Sutton insists that the Thames is dredged nearest Walton Bridge, and the disposed of phone is discovered. CCTV is examined and a suspicious white van is seen lingering around the area of Twickenham Green on the night Amelié was attacked.

Sutton is led to Bellfield by a WPC at the crime scene, who reminds Sutton of a witness report. He worked as a vehicle clamping operator, is known for being aggressive towards women; but more importantly, the owner of a white van. The team monitor Levi's movements and when they visit his house, they realise he lives less than a minutes walk from the bus stop where Milly Dowler went missing in 2003. Sutton, who was completely sure of the idea that Bellfield was the killer, realised he needed to apprehend Bellfield immediately before he attacked again.

A supermarket receipt finds Levi guilty; the fact that he was left alone in the previous house at the time of Milly's disappearance. His girlfriend, Marsh, is relieved that the supermarket fits her timeline.Levi was hiding in the attic of Marsh's house; yet she immediately told Sutton, as she was aware of his crimes.

The series ends and informs the audience that on the 25th February 2008 Levi Bellfield was convicted of the murders of Marsha McDonnell and Amelie Delagrange, and the attempted murder of Sheedy. He was sentenced to three life sentences, with a recommendation from the judge to never be released. On the 23rd June 2011, Bellfield was found guilty of the murder of Milly Dowler, and sentenced to a second life imprisonment. He resides in HM Prison Frankland, Durham, a Category A Mens Prison.

On the 6th March 2019, the series was commissioned to run for a second series for release in 2020.
